- how much things have changed .
Growth is Betrayal . You learn things . And sometimes they’re difficult . You have to consider what’s best even if it means breaking someone , including yourself . Yesterday you had thousands of best friends . Now one hardly ever exists . One day you feel so emotional about someone , and suddenly ? You feel nothing . It was so much easier when we thought boys had cooties . When we thought Tom was the one who bullied Jerry . When your worst enemy was your sibling . When the only thing that hurt was that scratch on your knee . When we hated naps . You always hoped for your mom to just stop talking . Now a simple conversation with her means so much to you . You used to be so scared to approach your dad . All of a sudden he becomes your own superhero . War was only a card game . Now ? You develop a conscience and find yourself at war with society . You blame others for something someone from the past has done . We would have these jejune dreams of becoming an astronaut , be just like Barbie , or perhaps a spy . We now face the biggest decision of choosing what we want to do with our lives . We come across roads we never thought we would encounter . The things you once thought turn out to be different from what you now think .
When we were younger , we would ask questions about entirely anything , so eager to know what the answer was . Now we would question everything , except this time , we fear the answers because we know they’re opposite what we want them to be . We would ask questions like who , where , when , what and how . Now we’d question why , and what if .
The more you know who you are , and what you want , the less things upset you . When I was a kid , I always wanted to be older . This wasn’t what I expected . We have a week and a half left of school and next year , we’ll be seniors .
Here’s what you can do .
- Cuss .
- Chew with your mouth open .
- Don’t match . Wear plaid with a printed top .
- Hold your girlfriend’s bag for her .

- Drink directly out of the milk/orange juice container.
- Don’t use coasters.
- Prolong class by asking the most inane questions.
- Try hard to be funny.
- Take 20 napkins, use one, then throw them all away.
- Own a dog with your girlfriend and call yourselves mommy and daddy.
- Ask me if I’m okay when you can clearly see I’m not instead of trying to make me feel better.
- Double negatives .
- Be a picky eater .
- Make me eat ice cream on an ice-cream cone .
- Don’t say you’re welcome after I say thank you .
- Leave dirty dishes in the sink .
- Lie to me when I know what happened already .
- Leave the cap off a toothpaste .
- Give me slow service .
- Just stand there, look pretty and chit chat while I’m here working my butt off .
- Salesclerk? Follow me and ask if I need any help .
- See no difference in its/it’s and they’re /their/there.
- Glitters .
- When you see me and you’re with your friend , don’t introduce us and just let us be strangers .
- Exaggerated acronyms like YOLO , stfu , lstm , rofl , etc .
- Leave shopping carts on the parking lot .
- The sun .
- Litterbugs .
- One word replies like yeah , cool or Kk .
- Emoticons .
- Parents , spoil your kids .
- Dogs , bark like there’s no tomorrow .
- Little bratty kids , cry in stores to get something .
- Spell library and February wrong .
- Tell me something I’m not supposed to know yet .
- Reply after like five hours .
- Call everyone your best friend .
- Be in a relationship for less than a year and say iloveyou already .
- Borrow stuff and never give it back .
- Guys , get down from the car and run all the way to the passenger seat just to open the door for the girl .
- Be late .
- Use contacts because you can clearly see .
- Girls , wear make up everyday .
- Post a status saying how drunk , how fun , or how trashed you got the night before .
- Phone operators .
- Bring your crying baby in movies .
- Guys , pick up a fight , chin up , on each others faces .
- Elevators .
- Wear sunglasses or hats indoors .
- Make me drink soda with no ice .
- Licorice .
- Jersey Shore , Twilight , Emo Bands , Justin Beiber and Gaga .
- Threaten to hurt yourself just so he/she doesn’t break it off .
- CHEAT on your girlfriend .
- Adults , dress with clothes that reveal your skin .
- Be a possessive couple .
- Parents , assume every guy I talk to’s my boyfriend .
- Start a text without my name on it . Like a group message or something .
- Trend words like swag .
- Talk to me online because we ignore each other in person .
- Disrespect elders .
- Compare me to her ‘cuz she’s better than me .
- Insult Logan Lerman .
- Make me feel jelly .
